Learn to Row & Yoga
Sunday August 3rd
9am - 1pm
Yes – rowing, as in on a river, as in the crew team. We’ve joined
forces with the New York Rowing Association to offer you a fun-filled
workout and learning opportunity.
We meet our rowing coach at the Peter J. Sharp boathouse in
Manhattan. He’ll guide us through a workout on the machines, teaching
us the techniques of rowing. Once we’ve got some idea of what we’re
doing, it’s onto the river to put our new skills to the test.
After successful maneuvering, we’ll head back into the
boathouse for a yoga class. The room we'll be practicing in has windows
on three sides and beautiful views of the river and nearby woods. The
class is designed for rowers and will focus on balancing areas of the
body most targeted by our rowing practice.
What a great way to start your day! And you have the rest of the afternoon for a nap or visiting with friends.
Wear stretchy comfortable clothing, athletic pants/crop
pants/shorts with a liner, a somewhat fitted t-shirt or tank top,
sneakers, and a light jacket or sweater if it is cooler. Layers are
good if weather is cooler in morning and then warmer during the day.
Please bring a yoga mat, water, swimsuit, towel, sunhat, suncreen, sunglasses.
